Well it's been 4 years to the day since I clicked 'Create corp', 4 years, 4 alliances and one hell of a ride ago.
DTHI began because a few people said "hey Ban, you run these little mining ops really well, you should make a corp!" We thought it would be cool to mine good ore one day (lol mining) and went with it.
Fast forwards 4 years and we're still here, one of the top corps in EVE and still kicking. I mean for those of you that know our history of alliances before Atlas know we're used to taking our lumps. But we have the greatest membership I've ever had the privilege of leading. We've also formed some long friendships with corps over all the years and we're happy to call most of em alliance mates or allies recently.
From those thoughts of "hey mining is cool" we evolved, we changed. Every 2 minutes it seemed the space we were in was being invaded and we could never do what we wanted. So about 2 years in we said "F this!" and went full out PVP and ditched the 'Industries' part pretty much entirely. I doubt we have anyone that even noticed, let alone cared about that switch. Now we watch killboards, we love seeing members just hit amazing kill totals (hey Calpepe!) we love being part of massive toe to toe capital slug fests over and over, and we get off on trying to be better and better.
One thing I gotta say is "Thank you" to an old enemy of ours where on our first trip to 0.0 they 'alarm clocked' our POS's at 4am in our Primary US TZ. Making the leadership in corp say "hey, that sucks, lets not have that happen again." which started our quest to find corp members in ALL time zones and never have that happen again.
2 years later and I think we can say we are one of the good 'international' corps. From Americans to Spanish, From Swedes to Canadians(lol, you know who you are ;)), for everyone under the DTHI roof I really wanted to say thanks for a really awesome 4 years and here's to an awesome 4 more(at least).
To the EVE community at large thanks, you made us what we are. One way or another you other helped us, hurt us, hated us, loved us, invaded us, defended us, taught us, inspired us, n00bed it up around us, were cool allies or really stupid enemies. The list of people I wish we could thank or give a shout out too is too long, so know we are thinking of you when I write this.
To my fellow corpies, your simply awesome. There's all kinds of things I could say about them and it wouldn't ever be enough. We'll survive as friends even after the last ship is blown up and the final down time comes. It's just the way we are, and I wouldn't change it. Thanks for everything and see you guys in game, so Happy Birthday to Di-Tron for hitting the ol 4 year mark.
